IKD Technology
IKD technology - profiles filling with foam
The main goal of combined STV and IKD technologies was to reduce Uw coefficient below 0,80 W/m2k, i.e. to achieve the standard typical of passive houses.
Advantages:
- Improved thermal insulation, standalone IKD technology allows for reduction of the Uf coefficient, but combined STV and IKD technologies will ensure great heat penetration rate for the entire structure.
- Lighter windows! - Cheaper transport! - Easier assembly! Owing to IKD profiles, steel reinforcement in the sash is no longer needed.
- Traditional processing, because the created fill is weldable, the production process can be carried out in traditional manner.
- No additional investments in the machines, foam fill is introduced to profile’s main chamber during extrusion process and is kept inside the chamber by means of appropriate pressure (it is not glued to the profile’s walls).
- Increased protection, IKD profile strengthened by STV technology makes it more difficult to pry or force open the window, due to the hardened foam core and full adhesive bonding between sash and pane.
- Recycling of profiles with the foam fill is easy, as the foam fill is not attached to the profile’s walls and falls off when the profile is sawn through.
IKD technology will be introduced step-by-step. IKD sashes and extensions will be available first, while jambs and colour profiles will be introduced later.
